Default What in game recorder is best for me?

I have tried the following:

Growler - High performance Low quality
Fraps - Mid performance High quality
Hypercam - Mid performance Low quality

So before I download every single one, and then spend the time to tweak it to get it working right for my system - what is a good one that suits my system specs?

START > Run > dxdiag > Hit Enter

Screen shot it and come back. Also do one for Display in the window.

What kind of Hard Drive(s) do you have, and size? And possible if you know, RPM?

You should be able to handle FRAPS @ 60 FPS, in 1280x720 game resolution (not your monitors resolution).

Don't have photoshop going though, lol.

I've used all three, I would probably say Fraps with your specs. Mine are a little lower so I'll probably use Growler if I can get a good crack. =]

I mean it runs decent, but its still a tad jagged. It messes with my gameplay. Can't really record a video if I cant play

Edit: Just tried it again - I lowered game resolution to 1024x768, reduced some graphics options, and set fraps to 20 fps. Still too laggy to play effectively.

May want to read this:
http://www.wogl.org/forums/ca-genera....html#post8317

& make sure you only have FRAPS & Combat Arms going...

I'd imagine you get 90-220 FPS w/o recording in-game, correct? If you get less than 90 at max, make sure you've gotten the driver updates for the 9600 from nVidia, and if not, then something else is hogging the GPU and CPU power.

Make sure you have selected 60, or 40 FPS in the FRAPS menu, under the video tab. If it's 20 FPS, then that's what you'll record at.

Ya I get between 130-270 fps. I use the latest drivers only. Can't really see what else is hogging my cpu - Symantec, sound drivers, windows componets. I even closed smaller programs like BitTorrent, Daemon Tools, etc. I do use Window Blinds but it doesn't appear to use much resources at all. My rig runs flawless, boots fast, and opens programs reasonably fast, can't figure it out.

Tried it out - it didn't do much if anything. No improvement when recording. Videos recorded don't show the lag that I get in game.
